The Ballad is among Alex Skolnick's finest work. I always loved Joe Satriani, and I always loved that Alex was his star thrash student. For many yeas he we was my favorite, and I was honored to meet him on the Practice tour in Denver. Thanks for letting me remember.
The Legacy has a feeling that speaks for itself. Yet again, Alex does that thing Joe does, where his phrasing and choice of notes sounds like an alien language, articulate, intelligent and soulful. His guitar sings and screams the notes of ones heart.
