Biomimicry

Biomimicry or biomimetics is the examination of nature, its models, systems, processes, and elements to emulate or take inspiration from in order to solve human problems.

Very cool example of putting nature's wisdom to work:

  1. Great idea, but with large scale industrial use, all that will happen is we'll grow more crops to feed more cows to feed more people whose ever growing numbers and environmentally destructive eating habits will continue making everything worse.

  2. That's a whole different issue, and a very valid one. My thought was how does this effect the surrounding air/atmosphere? Biomimicry is great, but only if humans use it in a mindful way and don't use it to further disrupt the natural balance of things. On the other hand, we are natural inhabitants of this Earth and have a right to survive and use what natural resources we need to survive. Like you said, the issue is that we use much more than we need and there are way too many of us...

  3. That is an incredible idea and could certainly be useful on a small scale. However, both of you are right. The best way to get the most value out of any of our great technology is to reduce our population, leave areas that are environmentally difficult/destructive to sustain ourselves in, and of course use our resources more wisely.
